2024 Infiniti QX50 Redesign and Review. The 2024 Infiniti QX50 will hit the streets with a completely redesigned body and interior. The result is more visually appealing, more relevant and more capable SUV. The previous model, known as Infiniti EX didn’t age well. Yes, it was powerful alright, but rather an inefficient SUV with sporty foundation. Now, the brand-new Infiniti QX50 brings improved safety features, driver-assistance systems, spacious and comfortable interior, and a high-tech powertrain, created for better fuel efficiency.
The starting price of the new model is just under $38,000, which make QX50 more capable competitor to the rivals like Acura RDX, Lexus N, and Audi Q5. If you need a well-designed small luxury SUV, with elegant style, fair price, a high-tech turbocharged engine, and credible safety and driver’s assistance features you should definitely check out the upcoming Infiniti QX50.
The company claims that the VC-Turbo 4-cylinder could easily be “the world’s most advanced engine”. The 2.0-liter variable-compression turbocharged inline-4 powertrain can produce 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The engine is also capable of changing the stroke of the pistons and by that varying compression as needed. This will benefit the power as well as the efficiency of the 2024 Infiniti QX50. The VC-Turbo record some instances of lag upon hard acceleration, but from the driver’s point of view, the overall performance is very good. The company decided to go with this technology to pursuit the greater fuel efficiency, and they measure that the QX50 will achieve up to 27 mpg combined.
Still, if the fuel economy is you prior, you can engage the Eco mode, via a drive-mode selector. It has an annoying tendency to add resistance to the accelerator pedal. All 2024 QX50 models will use a CVT automatic transmission, to further improve fuel efficiency. The front-wheel drive will be the standard setup, and the all-wheel drive optional. The premium grade gasoline is recommended, but from the company claim that the delicate unit like this can run on 87-octane gasoline. Stick with the premium grade, better safe than sorry. The towing capacity of new Infiniti is set to 3,000 pounds, with AWD and the tow package.
2024 Infiniti QX50 Changes
The Infiniti QX50, a luxury crossover SUV and the flagship of the Japanese company Nissan will get a significant number of changes for the 2024 model. The new Infiniti will keep only the name of the previous model, and everything else is gon na get a makeover and major upgrades. The 2024 Infiniti QX50 will be one of the first SUVs that will use a variable-compression (VC) turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain. Safety and convenience features are much improved, especially on the higher trim levels.
As for the exterior, the new thin and well-built skin will bring a similar visual impact to the QX50, like one we can see on QX30, and a 3-row QX60. Surely, the focal points of the new look are a voluptuous hood and the boomerang-like chrome treatment of the C-pillar. Up front, you’ll find large honeycomb grille, more prominent and eye-catching than before. The famous Infiniti badge is right in the middle of the grille. The roof rails are added, but only for the upper trim levels, as well as the panoramic moonroof. The brand-new Infiniti QX50 will roll on 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The 20-inch rollers are optional, but you have to step up to Essential trim to get those wheels. The ground clearance is slightly increased as well, now QX50 sits at 8.6 inches from the ground.
The upcoming Infiniti 2024 QX50 will offer a more spacious cabin and significantly better-designed interior. You’ll find 38.7 inches of rear-seat legroom and up to 65.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity, with rear seats folded. Pretty impressive stats, you’ll agree. The comfortable and broad cabin, Infiniti brings a lot of luxury equipment and features, especially for the Essential trim. For the entry-level, you’ll still have to pay extra to get heated front-seats and similar features. The central board gets a hi-tech redesign with twin-touch screens. The upper one is 8-inches and the lower 7-inches. In addition, audio, phone, navigation, and other similar functions can be controlled by supplementary dials. On the sides of the touch screen, there are even more control buttons for temperature, fan speed, and the optional heated and ventilated front seats. It’s a nice shift from fully touch-based controls.
The users may be confused by the nub of a gear selector, and the P button below, that needs to be pressed for parking. The standard equipment includes a power tailgate, 8-way-power front seats, LED highlights, dual-zone climate control and Infiniti’s Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The basic infotainment system is a twin-screen setup with a 6-speaker audio system.
The Bluetooth and a USB input are available. The 2019 QX50 model didn’t have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Now, they will be part of the standard equipment. And, if you choose the Luxe trim you’ll get a power-operated panoramic moonroof, LED fog lights, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink universal garage-door opener and blind-spot monitoring.
